History at Harbury
The history curriculum at Harbury enables pupils to develop their understanding of the past by investigating sources such as pictures, stories, writing artefacts, expert visitors and off-site visits.
We support children in asking questions about the past and together we discover how what has gone before impacts the world we live in today. We begin by examining the children’s own personal history and develop their sense of chronology throughout topic-based study in Key Stages 1 and 2. Furthermore, opportunities will be given to make comparisons and links across historical periods and places.
We are tremendously lucky to have a village heritage centre on site which is full of source materials the children can access to further their understanding of local history.
Check out their website for more information: harburyheritage.org.uk/
Children will leave school with a rich understanding of the past, inspired by lessons that engage and enlighten.
